Helping families stay connected with QParents
Runcorn State High School is continuing to improve the way we connect with families by strengthening our use of QParents.
Many of our families are already using QParents to access important information about their child, and we are now working towards making it an even more central part of how we communicate and manage everyday school processes.
What is QParents?
QParents is a secure online portal that gives parents and carers 24/7 access to key information about their student, all in one place.
Through QParents, families can:
- Receive and respond to permission requests
- View and pay school invoices
- Submit student absences
- Access attendance records
- View academic reports, timetables and assessment planners
- Stay up to date with school announcements and upcoming events
Making things simpler for families
We recognise that families are often managing multiple commitments, and QParents provides a more convenient and efficient way to stay informed and complete important tasks without needing to visit the school or manage paper forms.
Over the coming weeks, we will be increasing our use of QParents across the school, with a particular focus on consent management. This will allow families to receive, review and respond to permission requests online, along with helpful reminders to ensure nothing is missed.
Looking ahead
From 1 August 2026, QParents will become the school's primary platform for communication, consent management and transactions.
We are providing families with advance notice and support throughout this transition to ensure everyone has time to get set up and feel confident using the system.
Need help getting started?
If you are not yet registered for QParents, now is a great time to get started. The process is quick and can be completed using your email address.
Support will be available in the coming weeks, including:
- Step-by-step guidance on how to register

- In-person support sessions, including on Personalised Learning Day (28 July)
- Further details will be shared with families shortly.
Working together
We thank the many families already using QParents and encourage all parents and carers to take advantage of the benefits it offers.
By moving towards a more streamlined, digital approach, we can reduce delays, improve communication, and make everyday interactions between home and school simpler for everyone.
