Runcorn State High School's Learning Centre is a 21st Century learning environment where students are encouraged to be effective users and producers of information.
The flexible and fluid design of the building allows students and staff to access a wide range of resources and learning activities. Students are encouraged to access the onsite print collection and digital resources to support the school’s anywhere, anytime learning philosophy.
The Learning Centre staff are an experienced and expert team, striving to provide the school community with assistance in resource selection, the development of digital and information literacies and coaching in the completion of routine tasks such as printing and word processing.
The Learning Centre operates each school day from 8am in the morning until 3pm in the afternoon. During the school day, students are encouraged to participate in extra –curricular and lunchtime events organised by Learning Centre staff. Popular and regular yearly events include games and chess tournaments, literacy events such as Book Week, Literacy and Numeracy Week and movie events to showcase student work.
