This is the last update for Term 1 and this week we supervised a small number of students at school. The IT team also worked to get as many students as possible prepared for online learning for next term and most of the school's laptops have been distributed to homes where there is no computer.
At this stage, school is due to re-commence on Monday 20 April. We are waiting on government advice as to whether school will be open to receive all students, students of essential workers/vulnerable children or closure. If closed, teachers have prepared work for student to do at home with parent supervision.
The purpose of this update is to provide you with some information to help you and your child engage in online learning from home. We have developed some resources to help you support your child with learning from home and online learning more generally.
1. The online student learning resources are available on Student Sharepoint (qedu.sharepoint.com/sites/2167/student) or though the quicklinks on this website. Your child's teachers will email them on 20 April to their student email address (login to email at owa.eq.edu.au) with instructions for the school work to be completed in the first week.
2. How to access the Student Sharepoint from home and to submit work to their teacher is attached.
3. Handy hints for parents to support your child to learn from home is also attached.
School staff will be contacting parents if we do not receive any school work or communication from your child because we want your child to continue learning and are here to help support you the best we can.
Teachers have already prepared the first two weeks of next term's work and staff are looking forward to supporting your child to remain engaged in learning.
