Year 11 - 12
The senior curriculum aims to:
The Senior School curriculum is flexible enough to allow students to undertake a course to study leading to multiple career pathways. Attaining an OP/Selection Rank is only one pathway. Many students who chose to attain an OP also undertake nationally-recognised vocational certificates, and/or complete a school-based traineeship/apprenticeship.
In Years 11 and 12 students study six subjects. In addition to an English subject and a Mathematics subject, students choose four more subjects from a large range of subjects. Students may study Queensland Studies Authority subjects or select from a range of Authority-registered subjects. The former subjects may contribute towards an Overall Position (OP), whereas the latter do not.
Our school community considers it very important that student’s graduate from our school with a worthwhile qualification, as well as a range of personal and employment skills and attributes that we help them develop. Therefore our Senior curriculum is geared toward rigorous study and it is complemented by a range of opportunities for students to broaden their experiences.]
