Manufacturing & Engineering Gateway School

Manufacturing & Engineering Gateway School

Manufacturing & Engineering Gateway School

Runcorn State High School is a Manufacturing and Engineering Gateway School which provides a “gateway” for students to career opportunities in the manufacturing and engineering industries. This project is an initiative of the Queensland Government in collaboration with Manufacturing Skills Queensland. Runcorn State High School is one of only 14 Queensland high schools involved in the project and the only school in south-east Queensland participating.

The aim of the project is to provide students with learning experiences and opportunities to enter the manufacturing and engineering industries through trade, para-professional and professional career pathways. We develop an innovative curriculum structure and embed manufacturing and engineering industry related content into the school’s core curriculum.

This year we became one of the 136 recipients to receive an Australian Government funded Trade Training Centre. The Metro south Engineering Trades Skills Centre will further establish links with the manufacturing and engineering industry, and local employers to provide training pathways and school based apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for students.

What do we offer at Runcorn State High School
